Earthshake again

We were woken up at around 01.00 this morning with the bed shaking, a rumble and loud bang,it appears that there was a Richter scale 3.0 earthquake centred about 300 metres from the house, at around 10 kilometres deep, having a look round this morning there is no visible damage to our property.
my fear was the pool might be damaged but it looks OK, the contracters are arriving tommorrow to fit the plumbing and electrics so hopefully we will soon be swimming.

Lorca Earthquake

Around 17:00 on May 11th there was a small shallow earthquake at Lorca Murcia, 2 hours later a stronger one of 5.2 magnitude which has caused substantial damage to the town and latest reports of 9 fatalities and 327 injuries, 3 of them serious, 420 military personnel are helping the local emergency services with Search and Rescue and any other help needed, around 40% of the buildings have been damaged in the town,
A team of 150 technicians have performed inspection tasks in Lorca and have been responsible for cataloging the damaged properties 17% from those inspected received a red circle. A red circle means access is dangerous and refused. 44% had a green circle marking (safe to enter) and the remaining 39% received a yellow circle, allowing only access to collect furniture and other belonging.
3500 beds have been made available for victims of the earthquake.
Emma and family passed through Lorca at around 16:30 on a return trip from Cordoba, and nearly stopped for a meal but luckily decided against it.
We were in Blanca (around 100kms from Lorca) at the time and did not now anything about the event until around 22:00 as we did not have the radio or TV on. We felt no ground tremors at all.

Earthquake today

Sitting at the computer this morning at 10.25 and everything vibrated for 3 or 4 seconds, it appears it was a 3.1 magnitude earthquake with the epicentre 3.5 kms off Torrelamata the depth was 15 kms, we are about 8 kms from Torrelamata but friends felt the movement in Rojales.
Torrevieja originated from Torrelamata, Torrelamata was just a small fishing village where the Tabarca island fishermen would land their catch then on 21st March 1829 an earthquake devastated the area and Torrevieja was rebuilt where it is now.

Zero Gravity

This morning our local radio presenter from TKO has been telling us how a prominent astrologer has informed, that at precisely 09:47 in Spain. Jupiter will go behind Pluto, and cause a once ever gravitational alignment on the earth, so if you jump up in the air at that precise time you will probably float.
A warning has been put out by the siesmology institute, that if a large amount of people DO jump up in the air at the same time -Like at 09:47 - when they land it is liable to cause movement of the Teutonic plates and cause spasmodic earthquakes in strategic places in the Northern hemisphere.

Earthquake

Early this morning (02:00) we had earth tremors that were reported as 4.2 on the Richter scale, sounding like distant thunder, people at the bar in the square, said they could see the buildings shaking and the seats they were sitting on felt like they were on air, we were asleep and the airbed cushioned the vibrations although it was a wierd feeling. Mary slept through it. There was reported to be 4 separate tremors, with the epicentre near Formentera del Segura, but felt throughout a large area.
Some holidaymakers decided to sleep outside following the event.
