Snake in the house
This lunchtime Mary saw the cat staring under the wardrobe in our bedroom, thinking she had seen a mouse or something Mary put the mop under and out wriggled a two foot long snake, she tried to get the cat out the room and called me. I put a leather gauntlet on and caught by the tail, it sunk its fangs into the glove then escaped again, i decided to usher it round the edge of the room then guide it out through the open door where it took refuge in a large plant pot. after taking a photo i chased it out of the garden. we identified as a venomous Iberian cross adder-it certainly was when i got hold of its tail!

Angel moves in
We have been thinking about it for a while and on Saturday finally made the decision to give foster care to a dog. So while we were at the K9 animal rescue, La Marina animal welfare charity shop, we left our details with Brenda, later in the day we got a phone call to tell us that there was a dog that needed a temporary home, So yesterday morning Brenda from K9 club and the dog arrived. She is a medium sized dog called Angel and after a short while she is settling in well. Fostering a dog is an easy process and no expences need to be incurred as food, bedding and any vets fees are covered. It is a great idea for people who would like a dog or cat but cannot through other commitments have one permanently, and of course it is great for the animals as they have a caring environment while a permanent home is found for them.

The tale of the black and white kitten
Sitting in the apartment this afternoon and we could hear a loud miaowing in the road, when we looked out there was a white cat with a black and white kitten following it down the road, the kitten was making all the noise, we thought it was in pain because it only had three legs, anyway went out to see what we could do and the white cat had gone and rattled on my daughters patio door, Bec and Damien then came out to see what was happening, meanwhile the kitten had disappeared so we got a cat carrier and looked for it. Damien caught the kitten and has put it in the apartment with food and water and will take it to the vets tomorrow. The white cat watched these proceedings from under a car and it appears she went to Bec and Damiens for help, as they are well known by the cat community for liking cats. I dont know what Suzie (the resident cat) is going to make of this but there will be a further update tomorrow.
